It did not disclose how many employees were affected. The latest move comes as TikTok continues to reshape parts of its global business
Earlier this month, the company confirmed it had laid off employees in Indonesia as it restructured its research and development organisation following the integration of Tokopedia
At the time, TikTok said it was realigning its R&D organisation towards areas that would drive sustainable long-term growth for its business, as well as its creator and seller communities. While the company did not disclose how many employees were affected or which teams were impacted, it said the decision was made to support its long-term business strategy and that its priority was supporting employees through the transition.
The restructure followed reports from Indonesia’s startup community platform Ecommurz, which claimed ByteDance-owned TikTok had significantly reduced Tokopedia’s workforce. TikTok did not comment on the reported figures
