TikTok has partnered with the Philippines’ technical education and skills development authority (TESDA) National Capital Region to help Filipinos develop practical digital skills that could open up new income opportunities through content creation, livestreaming and social commerce

The collaboration saw TikTok deliver a special edition of its TikTok Content Camp, bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs, job seekers and individuals looking to build digital capabilities. The programme combined classroom-style learning with hands-on workshops covering several areas of the creator economy

Participants were first introduced to CapCut, where they learned video editing fundamentals, content packaging techniques and best practices for producing engaging short-form videos. The training then moved to TikTok LIVE, covering trends in the Philippine livestreaming landscape, audience engagement strategies, emerging content categories and monetisation opportunities, alongside insights into how TikTok LIVE agencies support creators and businesses.

The final session focused on TikTok Shop’s creator affiliate programme, giving attendees practical guidance on creating commerce-driven content and building revenue opportunities through social commerce

Yves Gonzalez, head of public policy for the Philippines at TikTok, said the programme was designed to make practical, industry-relevant digital training more accessible

“The digital economy is creating new opportunities for Filipinos to build businesses, develop new skills, and earn a livelihood. Through this collaboration with TESDA, TikTok is bringing practical, industry-relevant training to more learners and empowering them to participate in the digital economy, build sustainable livelihoods, strengthen their communities, and contribute to the country’s inclusive growth,” Gonzalez said.

TESDA said the partnership complements its existing technical and vocational training by incorporating skills that are becoming increasingly valuable in today’s digital-first economy

“Digital skills are becoming increasingly essential across industries and TESDA’s role is to make sure every Filipino is equipped to succeed in this rapidly changing environment. TikTok Content Camp allows us to complement technical training with knowledge in content creation, livestreaming, and social commerce, creating new opportunities for entrepreneurship and sustainable growth. Together with TikTok, we look forward to making skills development more accessible and responsive to the changing needs of the Philippine economy,” said Eugene P. Agcaoili, centre administrator at TESDA RTC-NCR.

TikTok said it plans to continue working with government agencies, educational institutions and industry stakeholders to expand digital upskilling initiatives

At the GoNegosyo MSME Summit, the platform said more than 90% of its sellers are local businesses, underscoring its focus on supporting MSMEs through seller education and partnerships. The company also showcased success stories including contact lens brand Eyeconic, which grew into a nationwide business with TikTok Shop as its primary sales channel, and Pampanga-based Naturefood, which reported a 300% sales increase after expanding its use of livestreaming and affiliate tools.
