Primark will finally launch its online sales. The Irish budget fashion group, whose cost structure had previously prevented it from selling online, will begin doing so shortly—though only in Great Britain. The company, which is also expanding into new markets such as Mexico, is thus seeking ways to revitalize its brick-and-mortar business, which has been affected for several quarters by a decline in comparable sales.

In a press release previewing its fourth-quarter results, AB Foods, Primark’s parent company, announced that the company will begin offering home delivery of online orders to customers in the United Kingdom. This move marks another step in Primark’s digital evolution; until now, the company had only offered click-and-collect, directing online shoppers to its stores and thereby reducing logistics costs.

“Primark’s digital strategy is to achieve gradual growth while complementing its store-centric model,” the company explained. “In recent years, Primark has made significant progress in developing its digital capabilities, including the implementation of a customer relationship management (CRM) system, digital marketing, a mobile app, and the rollout of the click-and-collect service throughout Great Britain,” it added.

After conducting a “detailed analysis,” Primark now announces that it “will offer home delivery in Great Britain in the future.” “Primark’s digital maturity, including the success of click-and-collect, and the evolution of the online market mean there isnow an opportunity to achieve profitable growth through the home delivery channel.” To facilitate this move, Primark has acquired a highly automated logistics center in Sheffield from the British company Boohoo.

Geographic Growth

Primark’s business diversification extends beyond its move into e-commerce; the company is also seeking new geographic markets to continue growing. From the United States (where it operates directly) and the Middle East (through a local partner) to Latin America, where the company is now expanding

The company, which has just opened its 500th store worldwide, has signed a franchise agreement with the El Puerto de Liverpool department store group to expand into Mexico. It is not yet known when Primark will begin rolling out stores or how many will be opened

In the Middle East, the company operates through franchises in partnership with Alshaya. In October of last year, the company began its expansion in the region with store openings in Kuwait and Dubai. Now, Primark has expanded its agreement with the Alshaya Group to include Saudi Arabia

Since 2024, the group has sustained its growth through new store openings, despite negative same-store sales in some of its key markets. In 2025, Primark reported revenue of 9,489 million pounds, in line with the previous year, although on a comparable-store basis, the company posted a 2.3% decline for the full year

In the United Kingdom and Ireland—which together constitute the group’s largest market, accounting for 45% of total revenue—the company reported a 1% decline in sales last year and a 3.1% decline on a comparable basis. In the rest of Europe (with Spain as the main market, accounting for 17% of total business), the group increased its revenue by 2%, although on a comparable basis it recorded a 1.5% decline. Primark posted 20% growth in the United States, following the opening of six new stores in the country.
