Circeus, an AI-native holding company, announced it has acquired Dondy, a conversational commerce platform ranked the number one WhatsApp app on the Shopify App Store. Dondy will become part of Shop Circle, Circeus\u2019s agentic commerce software division. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed<\/p>\n
Dondy is used by more than 70,000 businesses to run marketing campaigns and automation<\/a>s and to drive sales and customer support through AI agents across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and website chat. The platform facilitates more than $100 million in orders annually and powers over one million customer conversations. According to Circeus, 70 percent of conversations handled by Dondy\u2019s AI agents today are resolved end to end without human intervention, a figure the company points to as evidence that conversational commerce has moved beyond simple automated replies and into genuine autonomous customer engagement.<\/p>\n Circeus said it plans to evolve Dondy\u2019s AI agents into fully autonomous systems capable of handling customer interactions across additional channels, including email, TikTok<\/a>, and Telegram, extending the platform\u2019s reach well beyond its current WhatsApp-centric footprint. The company also said it intends to expand Dondy\u2019s marketing capabilities to include automated campaign creation, follow-ups, and proactive customer outreach, building toward a system in which merchants can rely on AI to manage significantly more of their customer engagement without manual input. Beyond product expansion, Circeus said it intends to move Dondy up-market to serve enterprise customers, a shift that would broaden the platform\u2019s addressable base beyond the small and mid-sized merchants that have driven its growth to date.<\/p>\n The acquisition also supports Circeus\u2019s broader geographic ambitions, with the company saying it plans to accelerate Dondy\u2019s expansion into new regions, including Latin America.
