Responding to the rapid transformations that define the world of work in the 21st century and contributing to the institutional commitment to teacher training are some of the objectives of the strategy UdeG-Coursera, which they jointly lead\u00a0General Academic and Innovation Coordination (CGAI), and the\u00a0General Directorate of Virtual University and Digital Learning for Life (UDGMore)<\/a>, \u00a0Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG).<\/p>\n

This strategy consists of launching two calls for proposals:\u00a0one for teachersand one for\u00a0students and graduatesFrom which more than 9 free licenses will be granted so that the community can take courses in different areas of interest, especially those that are in highest demand in today’s job market<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

This was explained in a videoconference by Dr. Socorro P\u00e9rez Alcal\u00e1, head of the CGAI, and Ms. Nadia Paola Mireles Torres, director of UDGPlus, who met this Wednesday with career<\/a> coordinators, department heads, division directors and academic secretaries from the various university centers<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

They explained that four programs stem from both calls for proposals:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Coursera for Campus for students and teachers, with transversal skills courses to strengthen the professional profile<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Career Academy for graduates and students, courses geared towards professional level training and certifications endorsed by global companies<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Coursera for the Future of Work, so that students can strengthen transversal skills for adapting to job changes and AI<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

PROINNOVA-Coursera for teachers, which includes courses aimed at expanding training and professional development opportunities for academic staff<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the case of teachers, courses successfully completed and included in the Coursera catalog for this call will be taken into account as part of the Teacher Innovation Training Program (PROINNOVA)<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the case of students, the possibility was raised that they could be considered in the curriculum as part of their comprehensive<\/a> training or as optional subjects, a topic that would be assessed by the coordinators of each program and the corresponding authorities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the session, it was reported that the calls for applications are available starting this Thursday, October 23, and availability may vary according to the distribution and use of licenses, as these may be reassigned from time to time<\/p>\n
